A Highly Efficient Full Azimuth Survey Design - Using a Single Acquisition Vessel
In this EAGE e-lecture WesternGeco's geophysical advisor David Hill re-visits the concept of acquiring full-azimuth marine towed-streamer 3D seismic data using circular sail-lines. The webcast presents the subject chronologically, starting with the initial idea & published literature from 1984 to 1994, then highlights the catalyst for the renewed interest today. This lecture is part of EAGE's Distinghuished Lecturer Programme (DLP) 2010.

Ocean Bottom Seismic Experience for Reservoir Management over the last two Decades

Over the course of nearly two decades, Statoil in collaboration with several vendors have helped lead the testing, development and deployment of ocean-bottom seismic (OBS) technology. In this e-lecture, Mark Thompson (Statoil’s leader for Geophysical Reservoir Imaging and Monitoring) reviews the history of OBS in the company, and shares the experience on OBS for structural imaging and reservoir monitoring. Finally, he speculates what the future may bring.

What Energy Future after the World Oil Production Peak?
EAGE's first e-lecture is a recording of the successful Student Lecture Tour (SLT) 2009 - 2010 presentation: "What Energy Future after the World Oil Production Peak?". Total's mr Pierre Mauriaud reviews in this lecture the history of the oil industry and its outlook for the (near) future. He takes a closer look at the production constraints with its oil and gas peaks, and also talks about climate constraints and oil prices. Is there a future for the oil industry after reaching Peak Oil?
